I Think I May Actually Love This Idea

rugs as a stair carpet
However much I love this idea it's not going to happen in my cottage as the staircase is a cast iron spiral. Never mind!

I Want a Ruffle Carpet

ruffle carpet by mari isopahkala
How cool is this? Ruffle Carpet by Mari Isopahkala. We have some very deep pile Gotland Sheepskin rugs in our guest room and every time I shake them money falls out. They aren't magic but Harvey gets undressed in that room and it all falls out of his pockets. I guess this one would do the same.

Stamp Rugs and a Tale of Royal Mail

stamp rug
I should not really be showing these to you after the day I had yesterday. I won't bore you with the details but what I will say is that Royal Mail couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery. I had to travel 40 miles to do a Fast Drop of some parcels, not fast more like snail mail, only to be met with this reaction from the person on the desk 'What's Fast Drop?'
Now down to these fabulous rugs. Replicas of our Royal Mail Stamps. It's not very often you get the chance to walk all over The Queen.

Ronel Jordaan

sheep lighting
Yes we have all seen felted pebbles before but Ronal Jordann in South Africa have taken it all a step further. Love these Sheep Lights,
silver pebble cushions
felted pebbles finished with silver leaf which can be treated for outside use. How good would they look in my garden? And

Shedding Some Light On It

Hide-and-seek uv painted floor by Solenne Morigeaud
How clever is this? UV Painted wooden floors so the colours only show when the sun falls on them. All I see when the sun shines on my floors is dust. By Solenne Morigeaud a Parisian surface designer.

Grassland

landscape rug wheredidyoubuythat
In my lounge sits this rug which has a tuft of grass growing out of it, well not literally as it's false but this is the best thing I have ever bought. They still sell them on my old website wheredidyoubuythat.com. Yesterday I discovered Grassland that sell
grass sheep
grass sheep,
grass orb
grass orbs that look
grass orb
fabulous in groups,
grass letters
grass letters and
grass lampshade
grass lamp shades. I get so many comments on my rug but am sure if I put that sheep on it my guests would have it confirmed that I truly am crazy.

The French and Their Floors

poncet and poncet france
I came across this French Estate Agency website the other day and could have leaped right in. This is one of my favourite properties. I know I always tell people to look up for inspiration but in the case of the French, look down because they have the most amazing floors.

Floored

wood floor made from wines boxes
And I literally was floored when I saw this at Parador. What a brilliant idea for flooring. We have a friend who owns a wine company and he throws these boxes away. A light just came on above my head!
