Don't Throw Your Old Drawers Away

old drawers made new
Right up my street are these drawers by Schubladen in Germany. They take old discarded drawers and build a new frame around them. Bravo!

Sophisticated Recycling

Wiebke Meurer spoon
The work of Wiebke Meurer is beyond belief. Turning everyday items and vintage pieces into stunning works of art. That tablecloth is silver and don't you just love the spoon?

How does she do that?

Discarded to Divine

Discarded to Divine
Take a very close look at these two dresses. The bottom one is made from vintage handkerchiefs and the top one from old jeans. Pop over to the Flickr page of Discarded to Divine and see more.
This is taking recycling to a totally new level.

A French Me

Carotte Bricole France
I found my French equivalent - Carotte Bricole. I actually think she is even more wacky than I am, I mean she even paints toilets.
These pieces are made by a very smiley French lady but I can't understand her site as it's all in French and Babelfish isn't playing ball with it. Anyway I love her stuff.

Simon Dale built this low impact house for his family in Wales. I could see Vanessa Valencia living here. All very clever stuff go and take a look for yourself.

Camouflage Your Shopping

French panier bag the camouflage company
A massive amount of shops in the UK are discontinuing the use of plastic bags and I'm all for that. However it's a great chance to bring a bit of style to your shopping and not having to advertise the shop you have just visited.
The Camouflage Company has come up with this beautiful basket shaped bag which is modeled on the old fashioned French 'panier'. It's circular shape makes it the perfect carrier for a multitude of things - and you can see what's inside at a glance. The 4 velcro straps neatly hold the sides in place. It folds flat for easy storage, and wipes clean. Another perfect 'bag for life'.
