I have to admit to not being a fan of Timourous Beasties designs until recently. The insects in their designs just put me off to be honest. I don't do insects I'm afraid, God knows why I live in the country, but now I am a big fan. Browse through these beautifully upholstered pieces of furniture an see if you agree.

Meet My Next Door Neighbour - Cumbria
On Monday I went over the county border to visit a friend in Penrith, Cumbria. I was shocked and amazed when on aprroaching Penrith these snow capped mountains came into view, even more shocked when I had an even better view from her terrace.
I swear it was like being in the alps. What a stunning county Cumbria is and so sad that they have had to tolerate so many floods in recent years.
On the way home I visited the Rheged Centre where I was thrilled to be able to see A Celebration of Harris Tweed. The colours are to die for.
Fabulous photographs of Harris showing the coastal wildflower meadows
Cabinets full of dyed wool
Harris Tweed Jackets in a vairety of colours
The instruments used to shear the sheep and
a taste of where their inspiration comes from. Not hard to see is it?

Rough Linen
My Mother never understood my love of linen. She just couldn't get her head round why I would love something that creased so easily. I have always loved linen especially on my bed. Nothing quite like it. Here's a fabulous collection from Rough Linen. By the way it's an amazing website but make yourself a coffee before you sit down and surf it.

Waste Not Want Not

Kristel Erga a Norwegian testile designer uses scraps of fabric that her fashion designer friend Leila Hafzi has left over. These jg-saw pieces can be used to make you own wall designs. Now this is clever and very eco-chic.

Yves Andrieux and Vincent Jalbert - Vintage Fabrics
I have wandered around the Marais in Paris more times than I can remember but can honestly say I have never come across the Gallery/Workshop of Yves Andrieux and Vincent Jalbert.

They trawl the flea markets of France, much as I do and collect vintage fabrics including tents, military equipment, parachutes and well do this to them. Their work is so good I have shown 12 images and there are loads more on their website so go and take a look you won't be disappointed.

Ulrike Ay - Still Got What It Takes

Ulrike Ay is a German textile artist. I have been a fan of her work for years now. I re-visited her website the other day and noted she hasn't lost that talent of hers.
