Kathy Dalwood never ceases to amaze me. She has done an even bigger Secret Society banquet than the last one and this time it was under glass. I love the reflections that make it look even bigger if that's at all possible. This one was staged at Holburne Museum in Bath
I love her diversity from classic to contemporary she mixes baroque with a MacDonalds burger
We were talking on the phone the other day and even though she explained the process to me I still cant comprehend the enormity of the task. Anyway enough of me bleating on take a close look at these images then go to her blog and see even more and GASP!

If You Are In London Go Here - You Would Be Mad Not To
My friend and co- collaborator Kathy Dalwood is holding an exhibition at Pitzhanger Manor in Ealing until 9th June 2013.
Not only is the Manor stunningly beautiful but so is the Secret Society Banquet Kathy has put together.
She never ceases to amaze me whenever I see what she creates from plaster. This time she has excelled herself and I for one didn't think that possible as she in my mind already had.
No less than 64 plaster busts have been created and they are attending a Secret Society Banquet. Like the busts everything in the banquet is in plaster.
I have been lucky enough to spend time in her studio and I can tell you what she creates does NOT involve a simple process, her attention to detail is unbelievable.
I am trying my utmost to get myself down to London to see this banquet in the flesh, so to speak and will report back on it when I do but I thought I would do a post about it now so those of you that are in London can go, visit and give your eyes a treat.

Susan Cutts Paper Art
Susan Cutts (very apt name) does some of the most beautful paper art. She has an exhibition at The Shipley Gallery quite close to me so methinks I should pay a visit. More beautiful pieces at her website.

IX Mirrors - Ron Gilad

Wish I had been able to go to this exhibition by Ron Gilad, called IX Mirrors. The quirkiness I always desire. Fabulous!

Savage Beauty - Alexander McQueen
If you are lucky enough to be in New York any time from 4th May - 31st July then you must go and visit this exhibition. Savage Beauty is a collection of 100 pieces of Alexander McQueen's work from 1989-2010 at which time he sadly left this mortal coil. A true genius.

Swiss Graphics

I found this image at London Design Guide the other day. It's was for a Swiss exhibition of graphics, product, and urban designers. It was on in July so I am a bit late but nonetheless it's a great design.

Clerkenwell Design Week

Clerkenwell is in London, EC1 to be precise. I am not there but my friend lives there and he is sending me images of the goings on in the streets. This week is Clerkenwell Design Week and it is right up my street, or not as the case may be. Thank you Colin you have made a jealous girl very envious.

My Favourites From Salon del Mobile Milan - For What It's Worth
Salon del Mobile 2010 held in Milan promises to be the best yet. I cannot be there even though I have had numerous invitations but Designboom gives the best coverage of the event so I took a trip via them. So her are my favourites to date:

I love the simplicity of these items - Autarchy - made from a bio-material composed of 70% flour, 20% agricultural waste and 10% natural limestone

Renzi Reale - Armadiature - created by using parts from various pieces of furniture. Right up my street this one.

Batucada - brightly coloured tableware and lamps made from 100% recycled aluminium.

Frozen In Time

Love this collection by Studio Wieki Somers at Galerie Kreo in Paris. Made using silk flowers and a resin and gel coating to give that icy effect. Takes flower arranging to new heights.
