Blog On The Go - My Purchases at The Antiques Fair

my purchases at the antiques fair
My absolute favourite purchase was this amazing French Games Table. The seller was French and kindly let me have it at the French price.

It's hard to keep the prices of Ghost Furniture at a reasonable level if I have to pay huge prices for the original pieces so I am always careful not to pay too much.

I found this lovely little collection in a box under a table of a lovely stand that was a joy to rummage in.

At the same stall I bought these battered but gorgeous large frames.

This very dirty but very lovely oval frame will become a blackboard.

These versatile candlesticks come apart to be used in 3 different ways. Very clever but then again they are French.

lovely place to keep your chalks.
Not so bad then? Well compared to haul I brought back from my last trip to Paris it's not so good as far a quantity goes but the quality is there and that's what is important.
Now to turn them into something hauntingly beautiful for Ghost Furniture

Blog On The Go - The Stalls I Liked

It would unfair to say that there were no little gems at this fair as there were. I was blown away by these Victorian ebonised desk accessories. I succumbed and bought some to apply to blackboards

I loved this stall because it had a sense of humour, loved the limbs popping out of the trunk and great care was taken

to create clever displays. The seller was Kirton Antiques

This stall had more French kitchenalia than you could shake a stick at and all beautifully displayed.

I just wanted to run into this stall and wrap myself in the fabulous vintage fabrics.
So all was not lost but I would have thought that out of 3,000 stalls I could have done a post on my blog a mile long.

Blog On The Go - A Day at The Fair But It's Not Paris

antiques fair in lincoln
There is no doubt that Lincoln is a beautiful city and yesterday the weather was perfect. The first shock of the day was the admission fee of £25 each. I have never had to pay such a high price to enter a market. Apparently it had been reduced from £100 - WHAT??!!

The fair was huge but an awful lot of sellers were on the grass which was very muddy. I swear I was a foot taller when I left due to the amount of mud on my boots.

The food left an awful lot to be desired. One of the highlights of visiting a French brocante is the food. I came to the conclusion that THIS WAS NOT FRANCE and never would be. The minute this stuff crosses the Channel the price triples.

This is what I came back with from my last trip to Paris and for the same amount of money I got what I have shown in my other posts today.
Note To Self: Just go to France next time.

Blog On The Go - Return Table To Sender

Stayed in a hotel that had wi-fi but at a cost, come on Ibis it's 2011! Their wi-fi kept disconnecting and I had to enter my very long username and password over and over. However delivering the Return To Sender table (above) to a very charming customer and a drive in fabulous winter sunshine to the Antiques & Home Fair in Lincoln made up for it all.
And incidentally, why when I do a post from my iPad does it leave a big gap between the title and the first image?
UPDATE: I have to change the image when I get home on my laptop. Come on Blogpress get it sorted.

Me and My iPad

my ipad
You are never too old to learn. I have just bought an iPad in order to blog On The Go, present big fabulous images of my Ghost Furniture and generally look very cool. At the moment it's the best thing I have ever bought but nothing major has gone wrong yet.
Do you think they have an app for that?
I am off to a massive Antiques and Home Fair for a couple of days so watch out for my On The Go blog posts of some fabulous vintage items.
