On Monday I went over the county border to visit a friend in Penrith, Cumbria. I was shocked and amazed when on aprroaching Penrith these snow capped mountains came into view, even more shocked when I had an even better view from her terrace.
I swear it was like being in the alps. What a stunning county Cumbria is and so sad that they have had to tolerate so many floods in recent years.
On the way home I visited the Rheged Centre where I was thrilled to be able to see A Celebration of Harris Tweed. The colours are to die for.
Fabulous photographs of Harris showing the coastal wildflower meadows
Cabinets full of dyed wool
Harris Tweed Jackets in a vairety of colours
The instruments used to shear the sheep and
a taste of where their inspiration comes from. Not hard to see is it?

No that is somewhere I would love to visit - all that gorgeous dyed wool. Interesting to see where they get the inspiration for their designs. Thanks for posting Di.
I went yesterday whilst I was at the Homes & Gardens Show in Rheged. The Harris Tweed was fabulous, did you see Nigel Caybourn's Mallory jacket in the display? I am coventing it!
I missed that 😢 Xx
