My Collaboration With Kathy Dalwood

Big apologies for making you all wait so long for me to divulge just who it is that I have been collaborating with - KATHY DALWOOD
concrete ghost at ghost furniture
she of Concrete Figurine fame. She who has the most amazing house which I have had

the pleasure of staying in whilst we have been working together and yes I sat and had breakfast at this table. Now for the big reveal

concrete ghost at ghost furniture Over to Kathy to explain, in her words, what it is all about:
In this startling, beautiful and inventive collection, French flea market frames and furniture along with exquisite trimmings from the hidden merciers and passementeries of Paris are brought together with industrial grey concrete tassels - stunningly realistic pieces created by direct casting from real vintage silk originals – to create a range of striking, one-off, sculptural accessories.

The details are amazing. I still can't believe it's concrete.

We met through our blogs, we found we were like minded designers and things evolved, resulting in what we call - A Beautiful Collaboration. Now we just hope and pray that you all think the same.
Here's what we have to say about each other:

Di Overton says: Working with a like-minded designer is a total joy. Kathy's beautiful sculptures sit perfectly with my designs. By combining hard and soft materials we have created a distinctive and unique style.

Kathy Dalwood says: Di has such an eye for colour and texture and her choice and manipulation of exquisite silks and braids complements the rough, monochrome of my sculptures in an unlikely yet magical way.

Concrete Ghost is available on the all new Ghost Furniture website which was launched today. More about that later.

I gave my friend Monika at Splendid Willow the US exclusive on this collaboration in an interview on her blog today. Go over and find out a few of my secrets.

I just sort of had a feeling...!!! Fabulous idea. Old time Passementerie tassels don't quite work with the more ascetic Belgian, rough lux look. You're always thinkin, Di! Congratulations to you both! XO Trish

That's awesome! I love the tassel tie-backs. My mother uses them in all of her decorating and they look awesome. She even hangs them from her canopy bed!

I've got these huge floor length curtains in the new house I've moved into. They're plain and these kind of tie backs will look amazing.

Shabby Chic Jen - We do bespoke concrete tassels also. If you have a particular trimming or colour you want to use we can accommodate and can make them in pairs or any quantity desired.
