How To Paint a Fridge Matte Black

how to paint a fridge freezer matte black
I posted some pics of my new kitchen the other day and people asked how I painted the Fridge Freezer matte black. Well you can buy black fridges but they are always shiny so I decided to just buy a white one and paint it myself.
Here's how to do it:
Apply 3 coats of matte black paint (the sort used for outside gutterings) I used one by International Paints.
Apply 3 coats of dead flat matte varnish. I used one by Craig and Rose.
That's it - smooth as a baby's bum.

I will tell Julie about the flat matte varnish - the latest incarnation of my 19th-century buffet deux corps resulted in a dark grey finish that is so matte that all the light is absorbed into it. We have to add a teensy bit of shine.

Love this. I will keep this filed away for the next place I move. Thanks!

It's too bad you live so far away! I painted my barbecue, bread maker and god knows what else black to match the rest of the decor. We could have so much fun redoing stuff! LOL

Great job, however, if you are using paint that's formulated specifically for exterior use then there is the issue of mildewcides and fungicides that are included in exterior pain, and are not recommended for interior use for that reason. Headaches and possible respiratory problems are amongst some of the possible health problems. Even for small appliances I would stick to paint that is formulated for interior use only.
