My Day Off
A fabulous view of The Cheviot from a look out point on The Rothbury Moors. This is the road to Alnwick - home of Hogwarts, Harry Potter's School.
Sitting outside the cottage having a cup of coffee this morning I suggested to Harvey that we take a day off and go out. The weather has been wonderful and we set off across our lovely county - Northumberland.
I love how after years of working in the city we can now both just do as we please when we please.
Here's a little taster of our day.
Well lunch has to be Fish and Chips - this is England after all
Quite a rare sight these days - boys playing in the river at Rothbury

GAWD it looks idylic!
Why have you been hiding this from us???
We ALL need a bit of fresh air now and then.
AFTER ALL!!!
Humph
What beautiful photographs. It is over 100 degrees where I live, so these are nice to see.
oh, few things can beat fish'n chips on a day out! love it.
To pretty to believe!! Spectacular!
Thanks for sharing!
oh what a beautiful landscape. it looks so much like the meander meadows of my southern dutch valley.
Your day out looked blissful! Fish'n chips is one of my favorites. My dad was from Wales-don't know if chips are a Welsh thing too, but we ate lots of chips at home. We also had fish-mostly haddock which I absolutely love, but can't get here in California.
