One of the best things about being English is that we are a race of eccentrics. Most of the time we don't even mean to be. What we think is normal everyone else thinks is weird. For a nation with such reserve it makes no sense but that's what sets us apart.
These little gems are from this weeks Ascot Ladies Day and yes the men join in as well. See I told you we were eccentric.

I do like thos wacky hats! At the Prix de l'Arc at Longchamp, they also wear hats, but they aren't nearly as creative as the ones worn at Ascot. It's very much a British thing.
