Just Two Fabulous Bookcases

On Friday 2nd March we will be handing the keys of our big Edwardian town house over to a lovely Irish surgeon and it will then be his home. In doing this we will be handing over a library that took 15 years to complete. Oh well we must move on and as we chose this life in the country one of the prices we paid was to give up these sorts of things.
When the renovations to the cottage are complete we will be looking for some shelving to hold the books we have kept.
I have no doubt which of these I would choose but which would YOU choose. The simple and neat ones with all the books standing like soldiers on parade or the haphazard ones full of interesting artefacts and the books sitting at all different angles.
Haphazard please!

definitely the top one for me too... it has such an air of "guess what treasures are hidden here!"

For your country cottage: No 1 - but with a bit more books and a bit less dust collectors ;-)

Love No1, but need No2.
In fact I am in the process of purchasing a similar one.

You can tell from my collages that I would choose the second one. Everything neatly in place and organised for me :) You're giving away your books too? why?!

Oh no I'm not giving away all my books. We had a proper library which contained a lot of books that were well read so we gave them to charity shops in our area. All the valuable and sentimental ones are in store. We will never have enough room to build another proper library so we had to get rid of some. Don't worry we still have the best ones.
