There is a house in Antwerp pictured here, below, for 190,000 Euros (128,600 UK Pounds) which is fabulous. My house pictured here is on the market for 465,000 UK Pounds - yes it is a nice house but is no bigger than the one in Antwerp. The house prices in the UK are crazy. I thought it was only France where the prices were low but something is not right when the differences are this great across Europe. I have a tiny cottage in Northumberland that is worth more than that great big house in Antwerp. This may all sound great for us Brits but how on earth are first time buyers able to afford a house? And if you sell you have to pay a fortune to move on. I can see a shift already in this country to people starting to rent instead of buying. Life is too short to tie all your earnings up in a mortgage. If your interested in the Antwerp house it has its own website and if you are loaded, so has mine.
