As we all know big windows in kitchens are wonderful for bringing in lots of light and look good into the bargain. However they do take up a lot of wall space. I think this is a great idea. Just put a plate rack up in front of the window and you won't lose much light but will utilise all that wall space. Another plus is that the light that comes in will be in shafts that will look good cast upon the floor.
