Whilst the majority of the UK population were tuned in to Big Brother over the last 2 nights BBC2 were showing The Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition. A fabulous programme showing a diverse range of artworks from over 23,000 entrants.
This bronze sculpture by Damien Hirst is standing in the courtyard of the RA on Piccadilly in London at 35 feet high and is attracting a huge number of people that wouldn't normally visit the exhibition.
Some people will hate it, some will love it and some really won't know what to think but isn't that what art is supposed to do. I personally love it and the idea came from The Little Dancer by Degas. Some idiots have said that it is the face of Victoria Beckham. Isn't that typical of our celebrity culture that someone would have to come out with that one?
Come on Big Brother fans take a look at some of these artworks and get your brain into gear.
