If you haven't already read this book then you must put it on your list of priorities. I don't usually like to read books more than once but this book contains a little bit of everything that happens through all our lives. It gives you wake up calls all the way through and makes you stop and think about your reactions to all sorts of situations.
Evelyn Waugh, the author, wasn't a very nice man but he certainly had great insight into how people tick. If you love everything quintessentialy English then that is another bonus.
