TRAPPED!

It has been snowing relentlessly here since last Thursday and I am now officially sick of it. Oh it looks very Christmas Card Perfect but I am totally trapped. We live in a hamlet on a hill and the roads are impassable. I have loads of Ghost Furniture orders to go out and no possible way of sending them.
My garden bench looks like a sofa but it's far too cold to sit on.

Keeping Up

Ghost Furniture consists of 2 people - me and my partner Harvey and occasionally our very amazing upholsterer, for the items that are way beyond my capabilities. We do everything ourselves and that's how it suits us. Christmas is our busiest time of year and this year it has gone CRAZY. It seems that the idea I had back in 2006 of bringing quality furniture back from the dead has caught on.
Some of our new pieces have only managed to stay on the site for a few hours before they have gone. Here are some that are still hanging in there.

I Love Trunks

I have a thing for vintage trunks. I have a huge one to keep our wellies in, it sits under the spiral staircase. I have a set of 4 leather ones for holding summer and winter clothes when not in use. When you live in a cottage storage space is rare so trunks are the answer.
Now if I lived in the US I would be sorely tempted to purchase all of these from Mothology.

Christmas DIY

I did a very foolish thing not long ago - I got roped in to being the event organiser at our Village Hall. Now I would be lying if I said I don't enjoy it but it being the run up to Christmas I am mad busy with Ghost Furniture and I have a Christmas Fair to orgainise for 5th December.
Now I will get to the point. I am making stacks of decorations to cheer the hall up and setting up a Vintage Tea Room totally in White so whilst I gather DIY tips I will try to share them with you. Number 1 - Lighted Paper Pendants. Go here for instructions.

Texas Tassels

A lovely package arrived on my doorstep the other day. Tassels from Texas.

My lovely blogging friend Constance Muller (Rochambeau) made me some fabulous strawberries

and cherries made from vintage sari fabric. I used these on two of my Ghost Furniture pieces, both sold now needless to say.

Constance has now turned her talents to tassels. Now I think everyone knows by now about my flirtation with tassels, the concrete versions which I love and adore.
Constance sent me these two fabulous tassels as a belated birthday present along with some more of those delicious cherries which I needed for a commission.

Constance being Constance wrapped them exquisitely as only Constance could.

It took me an age to choose my gifts from her fabulous range. How clever is this lady????

Interflora Lights Up My Life - The Designers Block Floral Arrangement

I took delivery of this fabulous floral arrangement from Interflora the other day. Designed by Lilly Rose Flowers in Morpeth, Northumberland. Not only do they look fabulous in daylight but

in the evening I can light the candles that are placed in little mercury glass holders and it takes on a whole new look.
The little card that accompanied the flowers said:
Dear Di
