The Bare Wall Phenomenon

I am sure I am not the only one who has noticed the trend for walls laid bare (not decorated). I find it all very comforting and it's a great excuse not to do the decorating.
I think I am confusing people here - I mean no paint or wallpaper
rough luxe
Fabric companies are using it,
rough luxe
photographic locations seem to demand it,
rough luxe
stylists love it,
rough luxe
I use it for some Ghost Furniture shots and
rough luxe
come to think of it I even the same effect in a corner of my cottage.

what do you mean with bare? The walls in the above pictures do not look that bare. Especially the beautiful bathroom.
I would paint / plaster your wall to cover the test of the tiles that do not really match a cottage anyway. Or take the tiles of and see it the bare wall underneath worth to be bare.

I love it! I wish my house were ancient enough to pull it off. Doesn't work so well with a modern ranch style.

I like it Di,
Both the Ghost and the first photo with fabric too.
Sometime, less is more. I like being at a party where the people stand out as the works of art!!

Some of my painter friends earn a living making walls look like this.
