Imagine how difficult it is to squash silver and keep its beautiful detail.

Dupenny Do Wallpapers and Fabric So Well

I found these wallpapers and fabrics by Dupenny the other day and they transported me back to my childhood, my Mother looked just like the lady in the top picture. Very retro and very fabulous.

Vogue's Interpretation of Hansel and Gretel

I just love Vogue's interpretation of the Met's production of Hansel & Gretel. I want to put a room like that on the village green outside my cottage. I wonder what the National Park would say.

Comfort Station - Perfection and a New Website

I met Amy Anderson of Comfort Station last year and she is the sort of person that exudes calm, she is a perfectionist but laid back - who would have thought that possible? Amy creates the most exquisite jewellery, each piece is perfect with detailing that seems impossible.

Comfort Station is located just off Brick Lane in Cheshire Street and the shop is everything you would expect from an Artist who gained her degree in Fine Art at Ruskin, Oxford. She carries the most exquisite range of Taxidermy all of which was road kill, how to turn disaster in beauty.

Last Night I Went To Versailles

Our satellite dish blew off last week and we have had no TV all week, today a new one will go up but in the meantime I have been making use of BBC iPlayer and last night it transported me to Versailles. What a fantastic programme. I was in awe of the funny little Frenchman who restored the furniture and blew gold leaf around his workshop to demonstrate how delicate it was,

I watched all the Orange and Lemon Trees being brought in for the Winter. What a huge task, have you seen the size of the grounds?

I gasped when I saw the restoration of just one of the ceilings in the Palace

I cheered when the 2 sculptors, one from Paris the other from Avignon, raised their brand new replacement statues onto the roof, they were perfect.

I found it hard to look when the chandeliers were being taken down and transported to a cleaners.
If you have access to BBC iPlayer I strongly advise you to go and see this half hour long programme, if you don't then you will have missed something VERY SPECIAL.

About Time - Beer Glasses For Women

I received an email yesterday asking me to take a look and vote for a Wine Glass for Women. What a fabulous idea. I hate beer glasses, we drink wine from nice glasses why not beer? Bittersweet have asked Amy Molyneaux fashion designer for PPQ to come up with the designs and the public get to vote.

Bittersweet are also asking for suggestions for making picking up take away a tad more feminine. In times such as these it's nice to see some frivolity.

Don't Throw Your Old Drawers Away

Right up my street are these drawers by Schubladen in Germany. They take old discarded drawers and build a new frame around them. Bravo!

A New Sort of Cable Tidy

Do cables drive you mad, they do me and I imagine they must do the same thing to Maisie Maud Broadhead as she came up with the idea of making art from them. This makes me want to extend every cable in the house and I never thought I would ever say that. But if you can actually stand cables then you could always give your laptop a festive look by plugging in those lights (bottom picture) into your USB port, from Cox and Cox.

Susannah Hunter - The Queen of Leather

I think I would have to take a Valium before entering one of Susannah Hunter's London shops. Soft leather, velvet linings, silver clips all go to make up her bags and on top of that she is producing furniture adorned with those fabulous leather flowers. I think I need to lie down.
