Maybe It's Because I'm a Londoner - Essential Visits

essential london
This is my last post on London and where to visit. Hope you have enjoyed it. This is a list of essential places to visit.

Liberty, need I say more? Yes I do. Enter via the Flower Shop and check out the window displays.

Spitalfields is in the Est End of London is by far and away the most exciting place to visit. The market was shut by the time I got to it but the bottom left picture shows how vast it is. Story and Story Deli is situated in The Truman Brewery on Brick Lane. Fabulous shops, cafes, restaurants and markets.

Clerkenwell is one stop away from Spitalfields and has a village feel. Fabulous buildings and a very interesting history. Don't miss it.
I met a friend, who lives and works there, for coffee and he showed me around. I was blown away by the place which is known for being trendy and hip without being embarrassingly so, and having some of the best restaurants in London.
The top and bottom right pictures are of Janet Street Porter's (a famous UK writer and broadcaster) house.

Hyde Park. Well you just have to go and if you do take a look at the hoarding at the North End of the park. Giant crayons in and out of their boxes, paint brushes and sketch pads. It was around the corner from my hotel and I just loved it.

At the World's End end of the King's Road this kid's hairdressers - Tantrum - was just fabulous. All sorts of cars for them to sit in each with it's own games screen.

I found this shop on the same street as Egg (click to see directions). This very up market dressmakers - Nicola Donati has all its walls and ceilings covered in dark blue crushed velvet. Even the back yard had a lovely tented area visible from the shop.

Well that's it. In two weeks I am off to Paris so I will hopefully brings lots of goodies back from there for you.

I have enjoyed visiting London again through your Blog, Di. You neglected to mention my favourite store, Hamley. LOL. Cannot wait for your trip to Paris as that is also one of my favourite cities in the world. x
