Even M&S has returned to Paris.
We had to stop for lunch before venturing further as my little French granddaughter, and my daughter Charlotte were both ravenous.
After numerous Metro stops, all with only stairs and no escalators which made life with a 2 year old in a buggy more than a little difficult we just had to stop for coffee. I would not normally dream of having coffee in a Starbucks in Paris but I was drawn in by this amazing ceiling.
I doubt there is another Starbucks with such a fabulous feature in it.
Onto the financial district, down from Opera, not much of a hike and the sun pushed us on.
Our final stop was Quartre Septembre Metro Station which still has its Art Nouveau exterior. We were there to visit Ultramod the most AMAZING Mercerie with
more ribbons than you could shake a stick at,
fabulous tassels and
the best use of skeins of embroidery thread and tassels I have ever seen.
The district was the 2nd and rather sprauncy. Even the little corner shop sold Poilaine. And below are my purchases from Ultramod, vintage velvet ribbon, long, long fringe trims, tassels and cord all waiting to trim our new range of lighting at Ghost Furniture.
