That Japanese Knack For Simplicity

I never cease to be amazed when I come across Japanese design because when you see pictures of Tokyo or any major city in Japan it is so busy and jumbled but give them an article to design and it is always simple and functional.
These designs by Oji & Design

great minds think alike! we just featured Oji Masanori's designs too, on our new blog - we fell in love with his brass bottle openers as soon as we saw them.

There really is something fantastic about Japanese design. So simple and beautiful.
Came across your blog through Poppytalk...and I love it!

I think there are definitely those two sides in Japan - simple and pure, but then also a sort of cluttered homely look too which is actually a bit surprisingly. Love the wooden boxes.
ps thanks for the moss tip - I grew some on my window boxes but not sure my skill will stretch to doing the logo! Might see if I can persuade one of my skillful craft friends to do it.

Know what you mean Di.
Must be the chaos outside that makes for the calm simplicity within.
