I found these paintings by
Eric Ravilious (1903-1942) and found it a bit scary that I could actually remember when shops used to look like these and the Knife Grinding Cart coming down our street.
My God I can even remember butter being cut from a block and shaped between two paddles and the first supermarket opening in London where I lived.
I think I had better have a lie down now.
Oh and by the way - I love these paintings.
