A Lovely Way To Break a Journey
ELY CATHEDRAL
If we take the car to Paris the journey is a long one. We are so fortunate to have a stop off on the way down to the Channel Tunnel. My sister-in-law and her husband live in a gorgeous village near Ely in Cambridgeshire and they have the most wonderful garden where wild deer stroll in at regular intervals. Their house was built and designed for an architect and is so quirky and interesting. She feeds you constantly with produce grown in the garden and is a wonderful cook.
My sister-in-law and her husband were made in heaven they are so supportive and kind. When we stayed there this time she let me rummage through and choose from her massive stash of vintage items. Her mother-in-law left her an amazing collection of items she had inherited and kept. She appears to have been one of those women who never threw anything out but wrapped it in tissue and stored it - lucky for me. Take a look at that 1930s swimming costume in pristine condition as an example.
My sister-in-law gave me allsorts of goodies and I have started to use them for Ghost Furniture. I will be showing this stash on Monday along with my other finds from Paris.
