Paris - Day 6 - A Day in Versailles

We could not have chosen a worse day to visit Versailles. Charlotte drove us there as Harvey had never been before. Bad idea! The weather was awful and the chateau was undergoing major renovations, in other words the place was a building site.
The gardens would look stunning in any weather due to their scale but it looks a ton better in sunshine and with all the statues minus their tarpaulins.
The bottom picture tells the tale but the top picture shows just how well the renovations are going. Spotless stonework!

They have been renovating since I was there in Summer 2002. Seriously, there was scaffolding up in the front when I was there too. Gorgeous place. I got some nice photos there.
