Paris - Day 1 - What I Bought

Due to the fact that we had taken the plane over here I was not in the market to buy furniture. I could have cried when I saw what was on offer but I had come for lace, leather and vintage jewelry. I did pick up this beautiful collar to be placed on the neck of this mannequin, which I bought on my last buying trip to Paris, when it is recovered in natural linen, so all was not lost.

On Saturday I am off on the leather trail at the Saint-Oeun market. I have two of the most amazing vintage Louis armchairs to cover. Check back to see what I found. I know from my last visit that there is a stall that sells every colour of leather skin known to man.

The lace is beautiful! And what a great idea to recover the form in linen! I almost bought a form recently (my daughter is a design student) but the fabric was in such bad shape, I hesitated. It didn't occur to me that I could have recovered it the same way I do chairs. So I'll be on the lookout for another, thanks to your tip.

Can't wait to see the lace on your mannequin. Show us what you bought to cover your chairs! Do you do it yourself?
