Now come on admit it, if you've been in Amsterdam you must have visited the Red Light District. We were approaching this church (Oude Kerk) in said district and my partner had our then 4 year old daughter on his shoulders. See those lovely black & white houses in front of the church? Well they house prostitutes and at the sound of his footsteps approaching they all stepped out of their doorways dressed in leather and yielding whips etc. I was trying not to laugh but when I saw the look on their faces as they saw that the two little feet on Harvey's shoulders belonged to a child I couldn't hlep but laugh. I have to say though, that they turned from quite fearsome sexual objects into soft faced mothers and all of them gently cooed at Charlotte. Incidentally in the cobblestones outside the church there is a pair of boobs set into them. The Dutch certainly understand how to treat the oldest profession in the world with respect.
