My Hopes For 2010 - With Truth Comes Hope

hopes for 2010
Before I start I would like to wish each and every one of you a very Happy New Year.
hopes for 2010
Which one are you? Well I subscribe to the Keep Calm and Carry On motto. Not for me the doom and gloom merchants, they can go and take a running jump, as my Grandmother used to say.
hopes for 2010
What sort of mind state do we think our kids will have if they go through their lives listening to this scaremongering?
hopes for 2010
I want the truth about global warming not the stuff that sells newspapers.

I want the truth about the Bankers, we all know what their name rhymes with but we need to know how it all really happened.
hopes for 2010
I want the truth about Politicians and why they take the decisions they do.
hopes for 2010
I want answers to everything that puts my kid's futures in jeopardy.
hopes for 2010
I want the truth so it doesn't happen again.
hopes for 2010
Most of all I want my kids to look to the future
hopes for 2010
with a glad heart
hopes for 2010
and the only way that's going to happen is to give them HOPE.
Just as a foot note: I was brought up in an era of hope, it made me the person I am today. Is it too much to ask that my children and their children experience the same?

Happy Christmas From The Cottage

Well it's that time again. Empty purse, full fridge and the drinks cupboard is groaning under the strain. A little blogging break is called for so I leave you with

a little present from me - Christmas Scenes From The Cottage - yes my cottage is called The Cottage, how imaginative is that?
Thank you all for your lovely comments throughout the year, it just wouldn't be the same without you all.

It's Bloody Freezing Here

cashmere by lily stone london
I am snowed in here. The Snow Plough came down the road today but scooped up ZILCH. I have rung the Council and complained and await a call back.
I decided to post gorgeous, cosy images of these fabulous cashmere pieces by Lily Stone in London. I don't think I will be sitting on the step in my underwear, leg warmers, wrist warmers and hat any time soon though.

Roll Over Beethoven

purple bust of ludwig van beethoven
You will have heard the saying - he would have turned in his grave - well I think Ludwig van Beethoven would if he saw this. Take a look at those false eyelashes on one eye. I love to see humour in the serious. From a Limited Edition of 50 found at Scooter and Jinx

Fear or Phobia

Triskaidekaphobia new york
Did you know that the nameof this company - Triskaidekaphobia - means Fear or Phobia concerning the number 13? Neither did I until I hit their home page and it told me.
I digress, these beautiful pieces are created in New York. Take a trip to this website and you will be in for a treat.

La Pomme at Etsy

La Pomme, located in France and selling on Etsy just keeps getting better. That swan below is sitting on a length of dried licorice. How cute is that?

Food and Tableware From The Same Soil

polderceramics
Atelier NL another genius design from the Dutch, each piece stamped with a geo-code reference to match the plot from whence the soil came. So you can eat your home grown food from tableware that has been made from the same soil. And to boot it looks fabulous.
