ReplyDeleteIn the US, Jello is the name brand of flavored gelatin. It is a brand name, that has largely replaced the product itself, like "band-aids" instead of adhesive bandage. In the mid west housewives make fruit filled "jello salads" Not many people would say they made a gelatin salad. In the culinary world, aspic is more of a gourmet term. It's interseting in the UK you call it jelly, which here is made from fruit juice, sugar, and pectin, which we spread on our toast. Lovely website, I found it from a link on PoppyTalk
