Before you do anything else today go to this bloke's website and see some of his images. He scanned these flowers in his printer/scanner. Just how he does it without squashing them I do not know. This is stunning art created using modern methods.
By the way his name is Craig and his wife is allergic to flowers - how sad.

Thanks Di, these are wonderful! He probably scans them in a dark room (or keeps a dark background paper or something over them) without closing the lid of the scanner.
ReplyDeleteThat's a tenacious man who found a creative solution to give his wife flowers. The result is lovely. Why didn't I think of that?
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, although I've heard of scanning plants (it's not something that often comes to mind) -stunning results.
ReplyDeleteThey look great. I've done it with leaves. My guess is that he uses a soft black draping fabric like velvet.
ReplyDeletethanks for the link!

About 2-3 years ago, I saw another web-site that did this, and that person didn't drop the lid on the scanner, she blocked out all light with a piece of thick black velvet. Hers were even brighter in color than these, but these are gorgeous!
ReplyDeletethat's an ingenious way to send flowers
ReplyDeleteyou are right, Di. These are beautiful!! Should try doing that someday, only if I could find gorgeous blooms here, without the big price tags. ;-)
ReplyDeletethese are BEAUTIFUL! i will definitely be trying this out.
